Curriculum

ESOLWe offer Level 2 and 3 courses and students can follow the A Level programme, combine a BTEC Certificate or Diploma with an A Level or take a Diploma with GCSE retakes.

Students are also expected to take part in private study within the school day and participate in extra-curricular activities.

Study Centre

All 6th Form students have study sessions identified on their timetable. Pegwell and Kingsgate are our designated study areas for the 6th Form and a full computer suite is available throughout the day, as well as staff members on hand to help at the 6th Form information desk.

Attendance at study sessions is registered in the same way as for classes. Work to be completed during study sessions is set by subject teachers and is set for a number of reasons including:

  • 6th3Preparation for a new topic
  • Researching information
  • Confirmation of knowledge of a topic already covered in class
  • Application of theory
  • Revision for tests and examinations
  • Practice of answer techniques
  • Assignment planning and completion
  • Development of personal skills

Computers may be used during study periods but games are not allowed to be played and social networking sites are prohibited.
