The Marlowe Academy would like to welcome the following new members of staff:

Mr KitchenerMr C. Kitchener (Head of Mathematics)
Mr Kitchener joined the army in 1984, training as a Systems Engineer in the Royal Corps of Signals. He left the army in 2007, after 23 years service, and trained to be a teacher, teaching at both Herne Bay High and Charles Dickens before accepting the post of Head of Mathematics at the Marlowe Academy.


Mr WakelinMr D. Wakelin (Specialist Consultant in English)
Mr Wakelin taught in a number of challenging, inner-city schools and the East Midlands before spending two years as an education consultant supporting intervention. He now joins us as a full time consultant supporting the English Department.



Mr CurryMr A. Curry (Teacher of English)

Mr Curry taught at Minster Primary School for seven years before joining the Marlowe Academy as a Teacher of English. Prior to that he was a commercial artist and is married with three teenage daughters.

Mr KellyMr D. Kelly (Teacher of Science)
Mr Kelly has spent eighteen years in education, the last seven of which were spent as a Deputy and then Headteacher of a school whilst still teaching. Science and doing crazy experiments are what he loves doing so he has decided to spend the last few years of his career launching rockets, blowing things up and studying astronomy, as well as having more time for his hobbies of oil painting, classical and flamenco guitar and Marshall Arts.

Dr KellyDr P. Kelly (Teacher of Science)
Dr Kelly started off as an apprentice mechanic eventually going into Import and Export. As recession hit he returned to education, gaining a Degree in Environmental Science and a PHD in Plant Pathology and Biochemistry, then working for Eurotunnel for a year before taking a PGCE (teaching qualification). Prior to the Marlowe Academy Dr Kelly taught at Barton Court Grammar School for eleven years and the Isle of Sheppy on a short term contract.

Mr Del-VecchioMr G. Del-Vecchio (AST English)
Mr Del-Vecchio joins us as an Advanced Skills Teacher in English.
