Please note that due to safety concerns, we will be coning off the double yellow lined area at the front of the Academy for the foreseeable future.

We would like to give a warm welcome to all new members of staff. Please visit our Staff Section for further information.

On Friday (27th April), we will be holding a Memorial Assembly for Mr Michael Tulloch at 4pm in the main hall and theatre. Members of Mr Tulloch's family will be present and will speak to the staff and students about the memories they have and the good times they shared with this brilliant but sadly missed member of staff.

Students past and present will also read out stories and talk about their memories of Mr Tulloch whilst two special performances will also take place as well but these are a secret at present so will be a surprise.

Unfortunately due to a limited amount of space, we will not be able to invite parents/carers to the Memorial Assembly but I would like to think our students go home with some lovely stories to tell about what they saw and heard on what will hopefully be a memorable afternoon.

Welcome to the Marlowe Academy

It is my absolute pleasure to welcome you to The Marlowe Academy. For those of you fortunate to visit, the first things you will notice are our fantastic building and tremendous facilities. However, a warm welcome is also guaranteed and is often commented upon by our many guests who visit the Academy.

As well as having a long and established reputation in terms of the care, guidance and support provided to our students, we are now entering a period where we as an Academy will also be striving for academic success.

We are fully aware that a young person only gets one chance in terms of receiving a good education which is why we will be endeavouring to ensure that an appropriate and individualised pathway is found for every student at The Marlowe Academy from the moment they start with us in year 7. We believe this in turn will lead to the vast majority of our yearly cohort making at least their expected progress and achieving the best possible grades by the time they finish their time with us.

Carl-WakefieldWe are fortunate enough to have many visitors who come to The Marlowe Academy but more are always welcome so I would like to take this opportunity to say should you wish to pay us a visit, please do not hesitate to do so and book a personalised tour with either me or one of my senior team.

On Tuesday 1st May, a television crew from 'Meridian Tonight' visited the Academy to film a follow up report to the one they aired in March. The initial report was somewhat negative and very much centred on the November Ofsted Report that was published  during the Easter break. It was pointed out to Meridian that their initial report did not involve any form of input from the Academy so an open invitation was offered to them and which they accepted last week.

The crew were in for the whole morning and spent time with me, a number of staff, students and parents as well as observing lessons across the Academy. They also visited and filmed during the weekly whole Academy assembly held at 10:30am every Tuesday. The visit and the report was a very successful one and all stakeholders involved conducted themselves incredibly well and spoke about 'their Academy' with pride, passion and belief. They also echoed my sentiments in that we believe this Academy is on the up, moving in the right direction and that it will continue to do so.

If you missed the report which was aired on Tuesday 8th May, please click here to view it.

Many thanks indeed to all involved as you did the Academy and yourselves proud!
